Shri Krishna Ayush University Typing Test Instructions
The following instructions are reproduced accurately from the official typing-test documentation supplied by Shri Krishna Ayush University, Kurukshetra for the Clerk recruitment assessment.
1. Keyboard & Initial Verification
Candidates must check the status of Caps Lock and Num Lock keys on their keyboard prior to starting the typing test. The typing test is administered in the English language using standard Times New Roman font.
2. Screen Layout & Synchronized Typing
The examination interface features a 40/40 screen layout where the original matter is displayed in the upper portion, and the candidate types in the corresponding lower typing area. Candidates are required to type the text strictly in sequence. Content typed out of synchronization is evaluated as an error. Skipped or missed words are treated as errors.
3. Correction & Backspace Policy
A mistake in a word can be corrected using the Backspace key BEFORE the Space or Enter key is pressed. Once Space or Enter has been pressed after typing a word, the software commits that word permanently and will not allow retroactive corrections.
4. Paragraph Transitions & Enter Key Rule
When original matter contains multiple paragraphs, candidates must press the Enter key at the end of each paragraph to start typing the new paragraph. If a candidate fails to press Enter at a paragraph boundary and instead presses Space to continue, this transition omission is evaluated and penalized as 1 Mistake / Error (deducted from total words during Net WPM calculation).
5. Prohibited Key Combinations
The software strictly restricts prohibited key combinations including Ctrl+F4, Alt+F4, Ctrl+Esc, Alt+Tab, Alt+Space, Alt+Esc, Context Menu / Right Click Key, and Start/Windows Function combinations.
6. Evaluation Parameters & Marks Formula
Performance is calculated on the basis of Speed and Accuracy. The minimum qualifying speed is 30 Net Words Per Minute (NWPM). For every NWPM above 30, the candidate receives 0.5 marks up to a maximum of 15 marks.
